Lesson: Quick Portraits (Bonus)
Quick Portraits (K-6+)
Artists throughout history have painted pictures of people – otherwise known as portraits.
The goal of a portrait is to show the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.
Historically, artists were hired to paint pictures of important people (kings, queens, dukes, etc.). They also painted pictures of friends, family and… themselves (self-portraits).
In this quick lesson, children will learn a simple technique for creating a portrait.
